Matt Lange – Way You Know feat. Tania Zygar / Only You EP

Today it’s Matt Lange’s ( turn to have a full single release of his offerings from this summers Anjunadeep 05. The two track EP features “Way You Know” and “Only You.” Matt is a LA-based producer with past releases on Anjunadeep, Armada, Toolroom, and Silk Royal. His most recent offerings include his chilled out remix of The M Machine’s “Shadow in The Rose Garden” and “In And Out of Phase” with fellow Berklee grad and Anjunabeats/Anjunadeep labelmate Andrew Bayer. “Way You Know” opens with the chilling vocals of Tania Zygar (no stranger to electronic music) layered beautifully over a mellow yet bouncy bassline. The B-side of this EP, “Only You”,  showcases Matt’s ability to utilize intricate drumwork, synth lines, and develops into a techier, darker sound.

Technasia – I Am Somebody EP


Coyu’s label Suara is well known for quality dance music, focusing mainly on innovative tech house with the occasional darker/techno release. The label’s releases are continually charted by some of the biggest names in the scene (Maceo Plex, Carl Cox, Marco Carola, Laurent Garnier). Earlier this year, the label released Tube & Berger ‘Imprint Of Pleasure’ which quickly became the year’s top charted tech house track on Beatport. For its next release, Suara signs the label debut of Charles Siegling, better known as Technasia. Technasia’s ‘I Am Somebody’ EP includes two originals, the title track and ‘Sensuela,’ along with a delaze dub mix of ‘I am Somebody.’ The track shines with a distinct head-down, side steppin’ groove broken up by abbreviated vocal shouts. Russ Chimes Guest Mix for Monki (BBC Radio 1)

Russ Chimes, a british-based producer known for his uplifting expressway mixtape series and recent dance friendly single “Turn Me Out” is showcased on BBC Radio 1’s In New DJs We Trust for a 30 minute guest mix. The mix features tracks like a unique mashup of Paul Woolford’s “Untitled,” with the TEED remix of Disclosure’s “F For You,” Nora En Pure’s “Come With Me” mashed with turn me out,and Pedestrian’s “Hoyle Road,” mixed together beautifully. While the dynamic mix is short, it provides a unique window into the mind of this aspiring DJ/producer. We can only hope that this is a sign of bigger things to come. With the recent success of deep house technicians across the world, it will surely soon be Russ Chimes’ time to shine.

Bluford Duck – Shoulder to Cry On

Bluford Duck (the nickname of a famous old west outlaw), a little known deep house producer based out of the UK, burst on to the scene with their track “Shoulder to Cry On.” First premiered in The Magician’s Magic Tape 36 and featured on Jeudi Record’s compilation of producers to watch, the track is a 2013 re-imagining of Brandy’s 1994 R&B classic “I Wanna Be Down.” The track borrows heavily from the original, laying a pitched up version of the original vocals over an updated groove and baseline. While others have tried similar updates with this track, only Bluford Duck is able to nail it. This has been a staple in deep sets of late and this duo is one to keep an eye on. Their original material sounds promising and 2014 is sure to be a busy year for them!

Sunday Slowdown #1: The Peacemaker Project – Ich Lass’ Dich Nicht Zuruck (Jody Wisternoff Remix)

Sunday Slowdown showcases a track from the archives that empowers us to take a minute to breath, listen, and just exist. When I first heard the original mix of this track, I was not impressed. However, upon hearing Jody Wisternoff’s remix of The Peacemaker Project’s “Ich Lass’ Dich Nicht Zuruck” mixed beautifully with the rest of Anjunadeep 05, the vocals and percussion immediately caught my attention. This song just makes you want to groove, to shuffle back and forth. Picture yourself on a Sunday afternoon, driving along a quiet road. This track forces you to block everything out for a few minutes of our busy lives. The twangs of the sax complete the emotional track.
